JIS G4051 S15C owns low carbon element, which decides S15C round bar has lower strength,but toughness,weldability,cold punching press properties are good. Because of the properties limited, can only be used to produce parts that bears small load and requires high toughness. After carburization or cyanide carburizing treatment, can be applied to manufacture some parts with lower strength and abrasive wear requirements.

s are usually produced under the followed procedures: EAF arc furnace + LF purify affinage + VDF + ingot steel(bottom gating /argon) + forged + annealing + black polishing (turnery) + Sep 1921-C/c,D/d,E/e UT test + smooth edges with sawing .
