The material 080M040 has higher strength, good machinability, medium cold deformation , poor weldability, no temper brittleness, low hardenability and water quenching crack easily. 080M040 is mainly used under the condition of conditioning or normalizing. 080M040 can be used to make the parts under high stress after surface quenching. 080M040 is suitable for manufacturing of the crankshaft spindle drive shaft, piston rod, connecting rod, sprocket. And gear, etc. If make weld assembly, 080M040 is needed to warm up first and slow cooling after welding.
